From top handball to Kenya’s slum

Lasse Boesen’s background as professional handball player and two-time Olympian has given him unique insight into the mental, physical and social benefits of team ball play. Insights that in 2008 led him to develop a ball playing concept for children and teenagers, void of the game’s usual focus on competition and results and instead built up around gender-bridging participation, physical activation, joy and team spirit.

HAND THE BALL is the resulting CSR concept. Ideal for slum and disaster areas where space may be scarce, equipment non-existant and players always of different ages, backgrounds and constitutions, HAND THE BALLv activities connect children and teenagers around play with the specially developed, hard-wearing foam ball as a magic ingredient in a harsh reality.
